第二十四章
1 地和其中所充滿的，世界和住在其間的，都屬耶和華。
2 他把地建立在海上，安定在大水之上。
3 誰能登耶和華的山？誰能站在他的聖所？
4 就是手潔心清、不向虛妄、起誓不懷詭詐的人。
5 他必蒙耶和華賜福，又蒙救他的神使他成義。
6 這是尋求耶和華的族類，是尋求你面的雅各。
7 眾城門哪，你們要抬起頭來！永久的門戶，你們要被舉起！那榮
耀的王將要進來。
8 榮耀的王是誰呢？就是有力有能的耶和華，在戰場上有能的耶和華。
9 眾城門哪，你們要抬起頭來！永久的門戶，你們要把頭抬起！那
榮耀的王將要進來！

默想：
1.想像你在一大群聖徒前往聖殿敬拜的行列中，當你讀這篇詩的
時候，你有怎樣的感情？你所看見的是怎樣的情景？

2.慢慢地讀，細細地揣摩，當時朝聖者的心情與態度是怎樣的？

3.這情形與你每個主日參加崇拜的心情與態度相比較，有什麼分別？

Chapter 24
1 The earth is the LORD’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who
live in it;

2 for he founded it on the seas and established it on thewaters.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his
holy place?
4 The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an
idol or swear by a false god.
5 They will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, God of Jacob.
7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the
King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD
mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the
King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty — he is the
King of glory.

Meditation
1. Imagine you are in the procession going up to the temple to worship.
As you read this psalm, what feelings and images evoked inyou?

2. Read it again slowly and try to grasp the emotions and attitudes of
fellow worshipers. What are they?

3. Compare it with your own emotions and attitudes of going to worship
each Sunday, what is the difference?

4. Who can enter God’s sanctuary (vv3-6)? How does this psalm help you
better prepared for worship this week and the weeks following?

Prayer & Journaling:
Stay with God for a little longer. Continue to converse with God and listen
to what he wants to tell me. Then write down any thought and/or prayer
in the 2012 “Spiritual Journal” book.

第二十三章
1 耶和華是我的牧者，我必不至缺乏。

默想：
1.出聲讀出這首非常有名且很熟悉的詩篇。

2.現在以反面的意思再讀一次：（耶和華“不”是我的牧者，
我“必至缺乏……”）。這樣讀的時候，那一節最令你不安？為什麼？

3.在以正確的方式重讀一遍。這次有什麼新的體會？將這個體會

Chapter 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet
waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Meditation
1. Read aloud this familiar psalm of the Bible.

2. Now read it again in the negative (“The Lord is not my shepherd…”).
What verse is most disturbing to you? Why?

3. Now read this psalm the right way again. Any new insight? Talk
with God about your insights.

第二十二章
1 我的神，我的神！為甚麼離棄我？為甚麼遠離不救我，不聽我唉哼的言語？
2 我的神啊，我白日呼求，你不應允；夜間呼求，並不住聲。
3 但你是聖潔的，是用以色列的讚美為寶座的（註：“寶座”或作“居所”）。
4 我們的祖宗倚靠你；他們倚靠你，你便解救他們。
5 他們哀求你，便蒙解救；他們倚靠你，就不羞愧；
6 但我是蟲，不是人，被眾人羞辱，被百姓藐視。
7 凡看見我的都嗤笑我，他們撇嘴搖頭說：
8 “他把自己交託耶和華，耶和華可以救他吧！耶和華既喜悅他，
可以搭救他吧！”
9 但你是叫我出母腹的，我在母懷裡，你就使我有倚靠的心。
10 我自出母胎就被交在你手裡，從我母親生我，你就是我的神。
11 求你不要遠離我，因為急難臨近了，沒有人幫助我。

默想：
1.“我的神，我的神！為甚麼離棄我？”耶穌在十字架上最痛苦
的時候，引用了這句話（太27：46）；實際上，這也是大衛在
經歷諸多患難時對神的呼求。

2.耶穌在十字架上被神離棄，為了使我們能夠被神接納。神應許
我們“我絕不撇下你，也總不丟棄你”（來13：5）；又應許
祂會與我們同在，直到永遠（太28：20）。

3.不論你現在的境況如何，記住，神絕不會丟棄你的！只管像大
衛一樣向神呼求，並以感恩的心，靜候祂的回應。

Chapter 22
1 My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far
from saving me,so far from my cries of anguish?
2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find
no rest.
3 Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises.
4 In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered
them.
5 To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not
put to shame.
6 But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by everyone, despised by the people.
7 All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads.
8 “He trusts in the LORD,” they say, “let the LORD rescue him. Let him
deliver him, since he delights in him.”
9 Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you, even
at my mother’s breast.
10 From birth I was cast on you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.
11 Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.

Meditation
1. The opening words of this psalm: “My God, my God, why have
you forsaken me”, was quoted by Jesus on the cross (Matt 27:46).
This is also David’s cry to God during his many troubled times.

2. Jesus’ was forsaken on the cross so that we would be received by
God. Then God promised that “I will never leave you nor forsake
you”(Heb 13:5). God has also promised to be with us forever (Matt
28:20).

3. No matter what your circumstance is, remember: God will never
forsake you. Cry to God as David did, and wait patiently for his
response with a thankful heart.

第二十一章
1 耶和華啊，王必因你的能力歡喜；因你的救恩，他的快樂何其大！
2 他心裡所願的，你已經賜給他；他嘴唇所求的，你未嘗不應允。
3 你以美福迎接他，把精金的冠冕戴在他頭上。
4 他向你求壽，你便賜給他，就是日子長久，直到永遠。
5 他因你的救恩大有榮耀；你又將尊榮威嚴加在他身上。
6 你使他有洪福，直到永遠，又使他在你面前歡喜快樂。
7 王倚靠耶和華，因至高者的慈愛必不搖動。
8 你的手要搜出你的一切仇敵，你的右手要搜出那些恨你的人。
9 你發怒的時候，要使他們如在炎熱的火爐中。耶和華要在他的震
怒中吞滅他們，那火要把他們燒盡了。
10 你必從世上滅絕他們的子孫（註：“子孫”原文作“果
子”），從人間滅絕他們的後裔。
11 因為他們有意加害於你，他們想出計謀，卻不能做成。
12 你必使他們轉背逃跑，向他們的臉搭箭在弦。
13 耶和華啊，願你因自己的能力顯為至高！這樣，我們就唱詩歌
頌你的大能！

默想：
1.大衛在這篇詩中列出許多忠心跟隨神的人會得到的祝福：戰勝
（1節），心願得償、所求得應允（2節），美福迎接、戴上冠
冕（3節），永遠歲壽（4節），大有榮耀（5節），神面前有
歡喜（6節），不變慈愛（7節）。

2.常常數算紀念神為我們所作的，這是我們歡樂不止息的源頭。

3.將你從主從得的福氣一一列出來，仔細看一遍，並為這些祝福

Chapter 21
1 The king rejoices in your strength, LORD. How great is his joy in the
victories you give!
2 You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the
request of his lips.
3 You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure
gold on his head.
4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—length of days, for ever
and ever.
5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed
on him splendor and majesty.
6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad
with the joy of your presence.
7 For the king trusts in the LORD; through the unfailing love of the Most
High he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize
your foes.
9 When you appear for battle, you will burn them up as in a blazing
furnace. The LORD will swallow them up in his wrath, and his fire
will consume them.
10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from
mankind.
11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they
cannot succeed.
12 You will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with
drawn bow.
13 Be exalted in your strength, LORD; we will sing and praise your
might.

Meditation
1. David lists the blessings of faithfully following after God in this
passage: the victories won (v1), desires granted (v2), prayers answered
(v2), presence welcomed (v3), crown given (v3), life – forever
and ever (v4), glory bestowed (v5), joy in God’s presence (v6),
unfailing love (v7).

2. Remembering what God has done for us is a continual source of
joy.

3. Make a list of the blessings you’ve received from God. Go through
the list and thank God for all of the blessings one by one.

第二十章
1 願耶和華在你遭難的日子應允你；願名為雅各神的高舉你。
2 願他從聖所救助你，從錫安堅固你。
3 記念你的一切供獻，悅納你的燔祭。
4 將你心所願的賜給你，成就你的一切籌算。
5 我們要因你的救恩誇勝，要奉我們神的名豎立旌旗。願耶和華成
就你一切所求的。
6 現在我知道耶和華救護他的受膏者，必從他的聖天上應允他，用
右手的能力救護他。
7 有人靠車，有人靠馬，但我們要提到耶和華我們神的名。
8 他們都屈身仆倒；我們卻起來，立得正直。
9 求耶和華施行拯救；我們呼求的時候，願王應允我們！

默想：
1.大衛信靠神，不依靠車馬，因為他知道一切的救恩、祝福都是
從神而來的。我們同有大衛的信心，在為別人禱告的時候，也
當有這樣祝福的禱告。

2.在你的親朋當中，是否有人特別需要這篇詩的祝福禱告。就
以此詩來為他/她禱告，你可以用自己的話來重述這篇詩的禱
詞。也可以將你的禱詞寫下，並寄給這位親朋，讓他知道你在
為他作這樣的禱告。

Chapter 20
1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion.
3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.
4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.
5 May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the
name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests.
6 Now this I know: The LORD gives victory to his anointed. He answers
him from his heavenly sanctuary with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of
the LORD our God.
8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.
9 LORD, give victory to the king! Answer us when we call!

Meditation
1. David’s trust in God rather than chariots (v7) is expressed in his
conviction that blessing comes from God. We who share David’s
belief will express our best wishes for others in prayers like his.

2. Think of one person that may need this prayer. Pray this psalm for
that person. You may rephrase it to suit his/her situation. You may
also write it down and send a note to let him/her know you are praying
for him/her.

第十九章
7 耶和華的律法全備，能甦醒人心；耶和華的法度確定，能使愚人有智慧；
8 耶和華的訓詞正直，能快活人的心；耶和華的命令清潔，能明亮人的眼目；
9 耶和華的道理潔淨，存到永遠；耶和華的典章真實，全然公義。
10 都比金子可羨慕，且比極多的精金可羨慕；比蜜甘甜，且比蜂
房下滴的蜜甘甜。
11 況且你的僕人因此受警戒，守著這些便有大賞。
12 誰能知道自己的錯失呢？願你赦免我隱而未現的過錯。
13 求你攔阻僕人不犯任意妄為的罪，不容這罪轄制我，我便完
全，免犯大罪。
14 耶和華我的磐石，我的救贖主啊！願我口中的言語，心裡的意
念，在你面前蒙悅納。

默想：
1.神以祂的律法來指引及教導我們，這是神的恩賜，而非重擔。
神的律法滋養我們的生命，警告我們、並應許那些討神喜悅的
人有“大賞”。

2.大衛對神的律法（話語）的各種描述中，哪一項最貼近你對聖
經的體驗？你花多少時間來閱讀聖經，其實就是你對聖經的重
視有多少，你認為是否有需要有所改變？如何來增加你對聖經
的重視？

3.求神來幫助你增加對聖經的重視！

Chapter 19
7 The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
8 The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
9 The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.
The decrees of the LORD are firm, and all of them are righteous.
10 They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.
11 By them your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
12 But who can discern their own errors? Forgive my hidden faults.
13 Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless, innocent of great transgression.
14 May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Meditation
1. God’s guidance and teaching through the law are a gift, not a burden.
They nurture life, offer warning, and promise great reward for
those who please God.

2. Which of David’s descriptions of God’s law (God’s word) best
matches your experience with Scripture? How does your sense of
its value match the time you spend reading it? Why? How can you
improve it?

3. Ask God to help you to increase your sense of value of the Bible.

第十八章
6 我在急難中求告耶和華，向我的神呼求。他從殿中聽了我的聲

7 那時，因他發怒，地就搖撼戰抖；山的根基也震動搖撼。
8 從他鼻孔冒煙上騰；從他口中發火焚燒，連炭也著了。
9 他又使天下垂，親自降臨，有黑雲在他腳下。
10 他坐著基路伯飛行；他藉著風的翅膀快飛。
11 他以黑暗為藏身之處，以水的黑暗、天空的厚雲為他四圍的行宮。
12 因他面前的光輝，他的厚雲行過，便有冰雹火炭。
13 耶和華也在天上打雷，至高者發出聲音，便有冰雹火炭。
14 他射出箭來，使仇敵四散；多多發出閃電，使他們擾亂。
15 耶和華啊，你的斥責一發，你鼻孔的氣一出，海底就出現，大
地的根基也顯露。

默想：
1.這幾節經文很精彩地描繪出暴風雨的情景，也很生動地將神為
他子民工作的情況。我們的造物主，竟然用所有自然界的現
象，來為祂的子民效力。

2.今天，找時間走到戶外，感覺一下風，觀察一下雲。想像一下
神就在風裡，在雲中。與神一同“藉著風的翅膀快飛”；並從
厚雲中，觀看神降下恩典的雨水。

3.你覺得這個與神想像的旅行如何？告訴神你的感受，並聆聽神
的微笑，以及祂對你的對話。

Chapter 18

6 In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help.
From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.
7 The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains
shook; they trembled because he was angry.
8 Smoke rose from his nostrils;
consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.
9 He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.
10 He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness his covering, his canopy around him—
the dark rain clouds of the sky.
12 Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
13 The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.
14 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy,
with great bolts of lightning he routed them.
15 The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth
laid bare at your rebuke, LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.

Meditation
1. These few verses gave a wonderful picture of storm; it’s a vivid description
of God working to help his people. Our creator God uses
all happenings in nature to serve his people.

2. Today, go outside and feel the wind, watch the cloud. Just imagine
God being in the wind and the cloud. Continue going with God
as he “soars on the wings of the wind”, and from the thick clouds,
watching him sends down blessed rain.

3. How do you feel on this imaginative trip with God? Talk to God
about it. And listen to his chuckling and response to you.

第十七章
1 耶和華啊，求你聽聞公義，側耳聽我的呼籲！求你留心聽我這不
出於詭詐嘴唇的祈禱。
2 願我的判語從你面前發出；願你的眼睛觀看公正。
3 你已經試驗我的心，你在夜間鑑察我，你熬煉我，卻找不著甚
麼。我立志叫我口中沒有過失。
4 論到人的行為，我藉著你嘴唇的言語自己謹守，不行強暴人的道路。
5 我的腳踏定了你的路徑；我的兩腳未曾滑跌。
6 神啊，我曾求告你，因為你必應允我；求你向我側耳，聽我的言語！
7 求你顯出你奇妙的慈愛來，你是那用右手拯救投靠你的，脫離起
來攻擊他們的人。
8 求你保護我，如同保護眼中的瞳人，將我隱藏在你翅膀的蔭下；
9 使我脫離那欺壓我的惡人，就是圍困我要害我命的仇敵。

默想：
1.詩人大膽地宣稱自己無辜，並要求神聽他的呼求，為他辯護，
並在要摧毀他的敵人面前保護他。

2.那些決意不犯罪的人，禱告時是很有信心的。我們禱告因為我
們期待愛我們的神會採取行動；而神的眼目經常在信徒身上，
看守保護他。

3.因此我們有信心知道我們在禱告中會得見神；祂會耐心地聽我
們將一切重大或瑣碎的事告訴祂，祂絕不會打斷、催促或停止
我們。

4.你需要有人聆聽嗎？需要有人理解嗎？需要有人伸張正義嗎？
為你的需要向神禱告，並感謝神，因為深信祂聆聽、祂理解、
祂伸冤。

Chapter 17
1 Hear me, LORD, my plea is just; listen to my cry.
Hear my prayer— it does not rise from deceitful lips.
2 Let my vindication come from you; may your eyes see what is right.
3 Though you probe my heart, though you examine me at night and test
me, you will find that I have planned no evil; my mouth has not trans gressed.
4 Though people tried to bribe me, I have kept myself from the ways of
the violent through what your lips have commanded.
5 My steps have held to your paths; my feet have not stumbled.
6 I call on you, my God, for you will answer me;
turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
7 Show me the wonders of your great love, you who save by your right
hand those who take refuge in you from their foes.
8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; hide me in the shadow of your wings
9 from the wicked who are out to destroy me, from my mortal enemies
who surround me.

Meditation
1. The psalmist boldly claims innocence, and asks God’s vindication
and protection in the face of enemies who want to destroy him.

2. Those who resolve not to sin can have great confidence in prayer.
We pray because we expect a God who loves us to act. And God’s
eyes are constantly on the believer, watching over him.

3. We are confident that we will see God in prayer. He will listen patiently
and we can commit all our things to him and not be in fear
of being interrupted, hurried or stopped.

4. Do you need someone to listen to? To be understood? To be vindicated?
Tell God of your needs. Then thank God with confidence
for his listening, understanding and his vindication.

第十六章
1 神啊，求你保佑我，因為我投靠你。
2 我的心哪，你曾對耶和華說：“你是我的主，我的好處不在你以外。”
3 論到世上的聖民，他們又美又善，是我最喜悅的。
4 以別神代替耶和華的（註：或作“送禮物給別神的”），他們的
愁苦必加增；他們所澆奠的血我不獻上；我嘴唇也不提別神的名號。
5 耶和華是我的產業，是我杯中的分；我所得的，你為我持守。
6 用繩量給我的地界，坐落在佳美之處；我的產業實在美好。
7 我必稱頌那指教我的耶和華；我的心腸在夜間也警戒我。
8 我將耶和華常擺在我面前，因他在我右邊，我便不至搖動。
9 因此，我的心歡喜，我的靈（註：原文作“榮耀”）快樂，我的
肉身也要安然居住。
10 因為你必不將我的靈魂撇在陰間，也不叫你的聖者見朽壞。
11 你必將生命的道路指示我；在你面前有滿足的喜樂，在你右手
中有永遠的福樂。

默想：
1.這是一篇喜樂的詩篇，大衛歡喜的說：“你是我的主”；他知
道離了神，他什麼好處都沒有了（2節）；他並喜悅神的子民（3節）。

2.大衛因為神是他的產業而歡喜並得安慰，他也知道，他的產
業是非常好的（5-6節）；大衛述說將神擺在他前面的好處（
8節），這也給大衛的生命帶來喜樂與福樂（11節）。

3.從你過去一星期的作息表中來看，你所“喜悅”的是什麼？怎

1 Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.

Meditation
1. This is a psalm of joy. David delighted in the Lord as “my” Lord.
And he knew that without God he won’t have anything (v2). David
delighted in the people of God (v3).

2. David took joy and comfort in the fact that God was the portion of
his inheritance, and he knew that he had a good inheritance (vv5-6).
David described the benefits of setting the LORD always before
him (v8). This decision brought gladness and glory to David’s life (v11).

3. Judging from your appointment calendar this past week, what do
you “delight” in? How to turn your delight from other things to
God?

Chapter 15

1 LORD, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your
holy mountain?
2 The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
3 whose tongue utters no slander, who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others;
4 who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the LORD;
who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind;
5 who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
Whoever does these things will never be shaken.

Meditation
1. David presented a question: Who can come before God? It’s those
who “walk straight, act right, tell the truth”(v2, The Message).

2. David described the life that lives in the presence of God; who
walks in close fellowship with God because the heart, the mind,
and the life are all in step with the heart, mind, and life of God.

3. Read over the psalm and use it as a good checklist against which to
measure yourself. Any reminder, areas that need correction?

4. Celebrate it with the last verse: “He who does these things shall
never be moved”. Thank God for such a promise! And ask God to
help you “walk” closely with God.

Chapter 14
1 The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.”
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.
2 The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God.
3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good, not even one.
4 Do all these evildoers know nothing?
They devour my people as though eating bread; they never call on the LORD.
5 But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
for God is present in the company of the righteous.
6 You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge.
7 Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
When the LORD restores his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Meditation
1. The Hebrew word for “fool” describes a person whose heart is
closed to God and whose life is characterized by gross immorality.
It reminds us of Paul’s teaching that anyone who does not acknowledge
God will become corrupt and does “vile” deeds (Rom 1).

2. When the fools say “No” to God, they are actually telling God that
they know better and are more powerful than God. Thus, they are
cutting themselves off from the abundant life and blessings God
intends to give them.

3. The most stupid thing a person can do is to keep God outside of his
life. Think those in your family and friends who are avoiding or
denying God. Pray for them that God will enlighten them to know
and experience God’s love for them. Ask that God will make you a
living testimony to this truth.

1.慢慢地讀這首詩，你對於詩人向神的呼求，是否心有戚戚焉之

Chapter 13

will sleep in death, 4 and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,”
and my foes will rejoice when I fall.
5 But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I will sing the LORD’s praise, for he has been good to me.

Meditation

1. Read this psalm slowly. Do you find similar feelings as you read
the psalmist’s cry for God’s attention? Pause and ask: “What am
I asking of God”? Identify your want or need from God. Look
closer to see what deeper desire might be behind it.

2. Now think of a name for God that is most meaningful to you with
respect to the desire just identified. Use this name of God in your
prayer for this desire. For example: Powerful God, give me justice;
Great physician, heal my hurts from …; Loving Father, forgive my sin of …

3. Throughout the day, pray your phrase as often as possible. At the
end of the day, think about how God responded to your desire.

Chapter 12
1 Help, LORD, for no one is faithful anymore;
those who are loyal have vanished from the human race.
2 Everyone lies to their neighbor;
they flatter with their lips but harbor deception in their hearts.
3 May the LORD silence all flattering lips and every boastful tongue—
4 those who say, “By our tongues we will prevail;
our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”
5 “Because the poor are plundered and the needy groan, I will now arise, ”
says the LORD. “I will protect them from those who malign them.”
6 And the words of the LORD are flawless, like silver purified in a
crucible, like gold refined seven times.
7 You, LORD, will keep the needy safe and will protect us forever from the wicked,
8 who freely strut about when what is vile is honored by the human race.

Meditation
1. This psalm emphasizes words spoken by men vs. those spoken by
God. David lamented to God the disappearance of the godly and
the faithful. Every one lies, flatters, betrays and boasts; doing anything
that will advance their own benefit. They even plunder the
poor. They proudly think that they could do all that they wish and
God has no power to stop them.

2. In contrast, God’s promise is pure words without pretense and deceit.
God’s word has gone through trials and is never changed for
God is faithful. God also knows his children and desires to help
them and protect them.

3. Have you ever been troubled or surrounded by lies and pretense?
Read this psalm again slowly. Paying attention to men’s words and
God’s. Tell God your confidence in his word – the Bible.

Chapter 11
1 In the LORD I take refuge.
How then can you say to me: “Flee like a bird to your mountain.
2 For look, the wicked bend their bows; they set their arrows against the

3 When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth; his eyes examine them.
5 The LORD examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love vio
lence, he hates with a passion.
6 On the wicked he will rain fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot.
7 For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; the upright will see his face.

Meditation
1. This psalm records well-intentioned, but faithless advice of David’s
friends when he was a fugitive from King Saul. David lifts his eyes
to the Lord to find faith in a time of testing. He knew the safest
place to stand was in radical trust in God.

2. Have you ever felt that your foundations were being destroyed and
you wanted to run away?

3. Remember, running to God is always safer than running away. Besides,
the wicked will surely receive God’s judgement.

13 Why does the wicked man revile God?
Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”?
14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness
that would not otherwise be found out.
16 The LORD is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from
his land.
17 You, LORD, hear the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.

Meditation
1. This passage describes the helplessness of the victim which leads
him to turn to the Lord. God hears and responds to the victims and
will judge the wicked and to defend the oppressed. The passage
also recognizes the fact that injustices may exist for a time. But the
people who persecute us will surely be punished.

2. Prayer in suffering brings us to God to understand his will, and it
also teaches us to care for the needy around us.

3. Do you know anyone who may be in trouble or suffering? Pray for
that person and pray for specific actions you may take to help that
person.

4 For you have upheld my right and my cause,
sitting enthroned as the righteous judge.
5 You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked;
you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
6 Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities;
even the memory of them has perished.
7 The LORD reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment.
8 He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity.
9 The LORD is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of
trouble.
10 Those who know your name trust in you,

Meditation
1. David celebrated the Lord, for he knew God not only reigns forever,
but “he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the
peoples with uprightness”. This enables a person who is oppressed
or in trouble to find refuge and hope now.

2. Trust in God may not change our circumstances, but it changes us!
The mere fact that we can experience peace despite persecution is
the most convincing evidence that God is real.

3. Bring your troubles and heartaches to God with full confidence that
God rules and he judges.

Chapter 8
1 LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory in the heavens.
2 Through the praise of children and infants, you have established a
strong hold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and
the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are
mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?
5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them
with glory and honor.
6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put every
thing under their feet: 7 all flocks and herds, and the animals of the
wild,8 the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the
paths of the seas.

Meditation
1. Read this passage aloud slowly. As you read, think of the things
and how they relate to each other in this psalm: babies babbling vs.
the antagonist words of enemies and foes; vast universe vs. tiny human;
the Creator vs. ordinary livelihood, etc.
2. What thoughts come to mind as you read and think of these things?
Tell God your thoughts and feelings. Close it by joining the psalmist
in praising God: “O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name
in all the earth!”

5 then let my enemy pursue and overtake me;
let him trample my life to the ground and make me sleep in the dust.
6 Arise, LORD, in your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies.

1. Have you felt falsely accused? How did you appeal your case? Like David?
2. Would you want God to judge your righteousness or the integrity of your heart? Why?
3. Speak candidly to God your thoughts, emotions and desires at this
moment. Wait for God respond to you.

的眼睛紅腫，視力衰退（現中譯本）。

地面對自己的軟弱，也誠實地看清自己的懼怕。當我們不能誠
實地面對自己的真相時，就是想要在人前保持“完美”的形

7 My eyes grow weak with sorrow; they fail because of all my foes.

10 All my enemies will be overwhelmed with shame and anguish;
they will turn back and suddenly be put to shame.

Meditation
1. David described his feeling of weakness as he had no strength left
to face life’s challenges. His bones were in agony, his soul in anguish,
he was worn out from groaning. His bed was flooded with
weeping and his couch drenched with tears. His eyes grew weak
with sorrow.

2. Praying along with David’s psalm helps us face our own challenges.
He was realistic about his weaknesses, and honest about his fears.
Dishonesty – an attempt to maintain a “perfect” image – keeps us
from acknowledging our weaknesses. And keeps us from full dependence
on the Lord.

3. Read through this psalm for a couple more times. Pay attention to
the words David used to describe his emotions and attitudes. Use
this psalm as your plea to God for your own situations.

Meditation
1. The psalmist begins the day first pleading his case to God and then
watching God at work. This is faith – praying and expecting God
to answer.

2. Begin each day with prayer. And practice the 6 breath prayers (cf.
P.II) anytime to experience God’s presence throughout the day.

1.大衛的跟從者在面對周圍的困難時，沮喪氣餒了。但是大衛卻
抬頭仰望，因為知道神的臉定要轉向他，他因而得到喜樂。神
向人“仰臉”的意思是神眷顧這個人，並定意要幫助他。

2.再多讀幾遍這段經文，同時心中思考：我最大的憂慮是什麼？
我所信靠的是什麼？

3.背熟7-8節。每一個晚上，臨上床前，背讀這兩節經文，作為

6 Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?”
Let the light of your face shine on us.
7 Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.

dwell in safety.

Meditation
1. David’s followers looked at surrounding troubles, and despaired.
David, however, looked up and found a source of joy in the knowledge
that God’s face was turned toward him. The image of God’s
face “shining on” a person means to look with favour; to look with
the intent to do good for them.

2. Read this psalm a couple more times, asking: What is my biggest
source of stress? Where lies my confidence?

3. Memorize vv7-8. Tonight and every night before going to bed, recite
this passage as a thanksgiving to God. Learn to let go all your
worries and burdens joyfully at the end of the day and rest in God’s
abundant and protective care.

2.但是,此時大衛卻決意專注在神的身上，思想神的本性與祂的
作為。大衛認識神是他的盾牌（保護者），是他的榮耀（極有
價值），並使他抬起頭來（力量的源頭）。大衛回顧神過去在
他生命中的工作，因此他能夠即使在面對背叛與沮喪之時，仍
然憑信心向神禱告。

Meditation
1. David was faced with the fact that many who have rebelled against him
seemed to think that God had abandoned him. When everything seems to
be going wrong, it’s easy for us to wonder if God were still with us or not.
Such experiences cause stress, rob us of sleep, and frequently make us so
anxious that we become ineffective.

2. Yet, David chose to focus his thoughts on God, and to remember who God
is. David had known God as a shield (protector), and his glory (greatest value),
as one who lifted up his head (source of strength). David remembered
who God had proved himself to be in his life, and he was able to pray to God
with confidence, even in the face of opposition and stress.

3. When faced with frustration, accidents, troubles, try not to go on the path of
despair and gloom. Instead, recall the things God has done in your life, count
them out one by one. What different results these two ways bring out?

拳，心中盤算如何頂撞神時，有什麼比這事更可笑的？事實
上，神的旨意是最奇妙的，祂的權威是無以比擬的！

8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,
the ends of the earth your possession.

11 Serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry and your way will lead to your de

Meditation
1. This psalm continues the theme of two ways that we can choose to
journey in life and inviting us to make a wise choice: the righteous
think about how to follow God’s ways while the others think about
how to rebel against God’s authority and purposes.

2. We often laugh at the absurd, and what could be more absurd than
waving our fists and plotting against God, whose purposes are wonderful
and whose authority is unrivaled? How silly can we get?

3. In what specific ways do I face the decision to choose between
serving the Lord, and resisting God to the end and be destroyed
in His wrath? What’s my choice? Ask God to help me choose to
serve Him and follow Him to the end.

Psalms 1

and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.
4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Meditation:
1.This psalm challenges us to make a choice between the way of the
righteous and the way of the wicked. What are the differences between
these two in this psalm?

2.How is the person who delights in God’s word like the tree planted
by streams of water? What would my life look like if it were “bearing
fruit” in season?

3.Today, go outside and find a healthy-looking tree. Spend a few
moments look at the tree, its trunk, the leaves, the roots. Ask God
to guide me in a way that I will always be in blossom and bearing
fruits. Pray that my roots will go down deep and be rooted in the
healthy soil of God’s word.

12 「看哪，我必快來！賞罰在我，要照各人所行的報應他。 13 我是阿拉法，我是俄梅戛；我是首先的，我是末後的；我是初，我是終。」 14 那些洗淨自己衣服的有福了！可得權柄能到生命樹那裏，也能從門進城。 15 城外有那些犬類、行邪術的、淫亂的、殺人的、拜偶像的，並一切喜好說謊言、編造虛謊的。 16 「我─耶穌差遣我的使者為眾教會將這些事向你們證明。我是大衛的根，又是他的後裔。我是明亮的晨星。」 17 聖靈和新婦都說：「來！」聽見的人也該說：「來！」口渴的人也當來；願意的，都可以白白取生命的水喝。

18 我向一切聽見這書上預言的作見證，若有人在這預言上加添甚麼，神必將寫在這書上的災禍加在他身上； 19 這書上的預言，若有人刪去甚麼，神必從這書上所寫的生命樹和聖城刪去他的分。 20 證明這事的說：「是了，我必快來！」阿們！主耶穌啊，我願你來！ 21 願主耶穌的恩惠常與眾聖徒同在。阿們！

默想：

「『來！』口渴的人也當來；願意的，都可以白白取生命的水喝」（17節）。這是多麼美好的邀請，讓心靈乾渴的可以進入永恒的國度。我是否已接受這個邀請？在得到滋潤後，我有沒有帶領其他疲乏、乾渴的人來到這個生命水的泉源？
基督徒的禱告：「Maranatha! 阿們！主耶穌啊，我願你來！」（20節）當我們不斷地以此作禱告，我們對未來的焦慮與恐懼就會消失，取而代之的，是像熱切期盼的孩童，充滿興奮與盼望。有這樣的盼望如何影響我對物質財富及世界享樂的看法？這又如何影響我的人生目標？
禱告：用「Maranatha! 阿們！主耶穌啊，我願你來！」來向主禱告，以真誠、期盼的心來對主說，也以真期盼的心，等候主對我說話。

Chapter 22

¹²“Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done. ¹³I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. ¹⁴“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. ¹⁵Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood. ¹⁶“I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.” ¹⁷The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life. ¹⁸I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. ¹⁹And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

²⁰He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus. ²¹The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen.

Meditation

“Come! All who will, come and drink; drink freely of the Water of Life.” (v. 17) What a marvellous invitation to those who become thirsty in their journey to that eternal kingdom! Are you heeding this invitation? After my thirst has been quenched, am I leading those who are weary and thirsty to this fountain of living water?
As Christians, we pray: Maranatha! “Yes! Come, Lord Jesus.” (v. 20). As often as pray this prayer, we will no longer face the future with anxiety and fear, but rather as eager children, full of excitement and hope. How does this hope affect my attitude toward the material wealth and pleasure of this world? How does this hope affect my life goals?
Pray: Use this prayer “Yes! Come, Lord Jesus” as my prayer to converse with the Lord in sincerity and expectation. Also wait in sincerity and expectation for His speaking back to me.

Prayer & Journaling:

Stay with God for a little longer. Continue to converse with God and listen to what he wants to tell me. Then write down any thought and/or prayer in the 2012 “Spiritual Journal” book.

默想：

閉上眼睛，想像新耶路撒冷的景象，驚嘆它的榮耀華美，就算我仍覺得難以相信，憑信心感謝神的應許。求神幫助我的信心。
慢慢地讀下面這首翻譯的詩歌歌詞，體會並感受主再來的奇妙、能力、盼望。當知道有個地方「不用日月光照；因有神的榮耀光照，又有羔羊為城的燈」（23節）為我預備的，我對將來的盼望會有怎樣的改變？

¹Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. ²I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. ³And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ⁴He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

Meditation

Close eyes and visualize the glories of the New Jerusalem. Marvel at it as you thank God for the promise. Even if I still struggle to believe, ask God to help me hope in it.
Read slowly the lyrics of this song. Try to feel the wonder, power and hope of Christ’s second coming. What might be different in me (even if it’s just the tiniest shift in perspective), knowing that a place “the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp” (v23) waits for me?

The timeless theme, Earth and Heaven will pass away. It’s not a dream, God will make all things new that day. Gone is the curse from which I stumbled and fell. Evil is banished to eternal hell. No more night. No more pain. No more tears. Never crying again. And praises to the great “I AM.” We will live in the light of the risen Lamb.

See all around,now the nations bow down to sing. The only sound is the praises to Christ, our King. Slowly the names from the book are read. I know the King, so there’s no need to dread. 11 我又看見一個白色的大寶座與坐在上面的；從他面前天地都逃避，再無可見之處了。12 我又看見死了的人，無論大小，都站在寶座前。案卷展開了，並且另有一卷展開，就是生命冊。死了的人都憑著這些案卷所記載的，照他們所行的受審判。13 於是海交出其中的死人；死亡和陰間也交出其中的死人；他們都照各人所行的受審判。14 死亡和陰間也被扔在火湖裏；這火湖就是第二次的死。15 若有人名字沒記在生命冊上，他就被扔在火湖裏。

默想：

聖經裡有很多關於永遠刑罰的形像描繪，但最常出現的就是一個又大、又黑，燃燒的硫磺火湖。耶穌提到一個「外面、黑暗」的地方，在那裡的人「必要哀哭切齒」（太25：30）。
新舊約聖經，都有提到一本書，其中凡事認識神、愛神的人的名字，都會記錄在其中。這就是生命冊。凡是名字在生命冊上的，就有永生，不在上面的，就是永死；是天堂的永生，而不是火湖裡無止盡的痛苦。
這個審判的景觀提醒我們神的公義和正直，但同時也帶來傳福音與領人歸主的緊迫性。試想我們所愛的家人朋友將與我們永遠隔離，我們何等應當屈膝主前，為他們的得救來懇求？
寫下我家中、親戚朋友當中，還沒有信主的人的名字；懇求聖靈在禱告中，將兩、三位的名字擺在我的心中。今天起，用三個月的時間，每天忠實、懇切地為他們禱告。

Chapter 20

¹¹Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. ¹²And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. ¹³The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. ¹⁴Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ¹⁵If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Meditation

There are many images of eternal punishment in Scripture. But the one that recurs most often is that of a vast, dark, and smoldering pool of burning sulfur. Jesus spoke of a place of “darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matt 25:30).
Both Old and New Testaments speak of a book in which a record of those who know and love God is maintained. It is the Book of Life. Being found in the book is the difference between eternal life and eternal death. Between eternal life in heaven, and unending existence in the lake of fire.
This Judgment scene reminds us of God’s righteousness and justice. It also brings a sense of urgency in the proclamation of the Gospel and the evangelization of our kinsmen. Imagine that our love ones will be separated from us in eternity. How much more should we be on our knees to beseech the Lord for their salvation?
Write down the names of those among my family and friends who still do not know Jesus? Ask the Holy Spirit to bring up two or three of them in my mind. Begin to pray for them earnestly and faithfully daily for the next three months starting today!

默想：

此處，場景再次回到天上，在那裡巴比倫的毀滅使得眾人頌讚歡喜，神在掌權，眾聖徒殷切等候羔羊的婚宴。
這裡的符號意義非常強烈。舊約裡，神被視為以色列的丈夫；在新約裡，基督是新郎，教會是祂揀選的新婦。聖經時代的婚宴是興高采烈的慶祝；現在巴比倫已被毀，新郎與新婦終於可以享受婚禮的宴席，在永恒裡，我們終將與神合而為一，直到永遠。
在期待著這個宇宙的大歡慶，我會怎樣裝扮自己，預備參加？主再來的時候將到，我是否能以聖潔為衣，從容出席？我如何參與這項預備工夫？

Chapter 19

⁵Then a voice came from the throne, saying:
“Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both small and great!”

⁶Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. ⁷Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. ⁸Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

⁹Then the angel said to me, “Write: ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

¹⁰At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Meditation

The scene again shifts to heaven. There the fall of Babylon is a cause for rejoicing. God now reigns. And all the saints will celebrate at the wedding supper of the Lamb.
The symbolism here is powerful. In the Old Testament God is pictured as the husband of Israel. In the New Testament, Christ is the Bridegroom, the church his chosen bride. In biblical times, the joining of the betrothed occasioned a week-long celebration. So it is with us. At last Bridegroom and bride sit down together at the wedding banquet. For all eternity ahead life will be new. And we will be one with God forever.
How do I prepare myself to participate in this much anticipated universal celebration? The Lord’s coming is fast approaching. Will I be clothed in holiness and purity to go? How do I participate in the preparation?

1 此後，我看見另有一位有大權柄的天使從天降下，地就因他的榮耀發光。2 他大聲喊著說：巴比倫大城傾倒了！傾倒了！成了鬼魔的住處和各樣污穢之靈的巢穴（或譯：牢獄；下同），並各樣污穢可憎之雀鳥的巢穴。3 因為列國都被她邪淫大怒的酒傾倒了。地上的君王與她行淫；地上的客商因她奢華太過就發了財。

4 我又聽見從天上有聲音說：我的民哪，你們要從那城出來，免得與她一同有罪，受她所受的災殃；5 因她的罪惡滔天；她的不義，神已經想起來了。6 她怎樣待人，也要怎樣待她，按她所行的加倍地報應她；用她調酒的杯加倍地調給她喝。7 她怎樣榮耀自己，怎樣奢華，也當叫她照樣痛苦悲哀，因她心裏說：我坐了皇后的位，並不是寡婦，決不至於悲哀。8 所以在一天之內，她的災殃要一齊來到，就是死亡、悲哀、饑荒。她又要被火燒盡了，因為審判她的主神大有能力。

默想：

這首詩是有關巴比倫，大淫婦的滅亡。第一段的詩指出，巴比倫是個魔鬼很舒服的地方，因為那裡面的價值觀與神的價值背道而馳。
這首詩的第二段指出，世人所享受的權利與奢華會摧毀屬靈生命。神賜給了我們各樣的事物來享受，但沒有一事比愛神，以及愛鄰舍更重要。巴比倫被定罪，是因他們太過珍惜物質財富，甚至在所不惜一切來獲得。
思想這句呼喚：「出來吧！我的子民，要從那城出來，免得在她的罪上有分，」（ 4節，新譯本）。這是今天神對我的柔聲地呼喚呢？還是祂在向我大聲地疾呼？是要從什麼事情中出來？
禱告，求聖靈照亮我心中的所有黑暗之處，讓我明白，並且願意順從地聽主的招喚，從那些事情中「出來吧！我的子民」。

Chapter 18

¹After this I saw another angel coming down from heaven. He had great authority, and the earth was illuminated by his splendor. ²With a mighty voice he shouted:
“Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons
and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird. ³For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries.
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries.”

⁴Then I heard another voice from heaven say:
“Come out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues; ⁵for her sins are piled up to heaven, and God has remembered her crimes. ⁶Give back to her as she has given; pay her back double for what she has done. Mix her a double portion from her own cup. ⁷Give her as much torture and grief as the glory and luxury she gave herself. In her heart she boasts, ‘I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never mourn.’ ⁸Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.

Meditation

This song is about the destruction of Babylon, the Prostitute. Babylon is a place where demons feel comfortable, because the values expressed in the society Babylon represents are at such odds with the values of our God.
The second part points out that power and luxuries enjoyed by the people of this world are devastating to the spiritual life. God has given us all things richly to enjoy. But nothing must become more important to us than loving God and loving our neighbour. Babylon is condemned because her people value material possession so much that they willingly commit crimes against their fellow human being.
Meditate on this, “Get out, my people, as fast as you can, so you don’t get mixed up in her sins …” (v. 4). Is God whispering this to me today? Or is He shouting at me? Where does He want me to get out of?
Pray, ask the Holy Spirit to shine in every dark corner in my life and help me see and be willing to obey.

1 拿著七碗的七位天使中，有一位前來對我說：「你到這裏來，我將坐在眾水上的大淫婦所要受的刑罰指給你看。2 地上的君王與她行淫，住在地上的人喝醉了她淫亂的酒。」3 我被聖靈感動，天使帶我到曠野去，我就看見一個女人騎在朱紅色的獸上；那獸有七頭十角，遍體有褻瀆的名號。4 那女人穿著紫色和朱紅色的衣服，用金子、寶石、珍珠為妝飾；手拿金杯，杯中盛滿了可憎之物，就是她淫亂的污穢。5 在她額上有名寫著說：「奧祕哉！大巴比倫，作世上的淫婦和一切可憎之物的母。」6 我又看見那女人喝醉了聖徒的血和為耶穌作見證之人的血。我看見她，就大大地希奇。……

12 你所看見的那十角就是十王；他們還沒有得國，但他們一時之間要和獸同得權柄，與王一樣。13 他們同心合意將自己的能力、權柄給那獸。14 他們與羔羊爭戰，羔羊必勝過他們，因為羔羊是萬主之主、萬王之王。同著羔羊的，就是蒙召、被選、有忠心的，也必得勝。」

默想：

七碗的審判終結出現了一位大淫婦，這淫婦代表屬靈的不貞，象徵歷世歷代以來，將自己出賣給撒但勢力的個人或是組織和機構，它們背棄永活的真神，幹這種勾當，就是為了擁有特權，獲得財富，享受世上的榮華富貴。
其實，我是否也很容易跟隨其他的「假神」，被誘導去崇拜「偶像」。不見得是實際的偶像，但有哪些偶像、有哪些試探，會將基督徒牽制住、不去跟從神？
思想：目前我所面對的試探是什麼？我的偶像是什麼？我如何能保守對主「從一而終」，而不至「晚節不保」？安靜坐在主前，向主禱告，祈求主的保守。

Chapter 17

¹One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters. ²With her the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries.”

³Then the angel carried me away in the Spirit into a desert. There I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was covered with blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns. ⁴The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. ⁵This title was written on her forehead: Mystery, Babylon the Great, The Mother of Prostitutes, and of the Abominations of the Earth. ⁶I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished.… …

¹²“The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. ¹³They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. ¹⁴They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

Meditation

The judgment scene comes to an end with the portrayal of the Great Prostitute. Although Prostitute is a sexual image, here it is about spiritual infidelity. This figure embodies those people and institutions that, across the ages, have betrayed the living God and sold themselves to Satan’s forces, doing their bidding in order to enjoy privilege and riches.
In fact, we, too, also quickly follow other gods. We are so easily seduced into idolatry of one kind or the other. What are some the temptations that would draw Christians from God?
Think: What are the temptations that I face today? What can help me to remain faithful to the very end to “FINISH WELL”? Sit quietly before the Lord and pray for His protection and empowerment.
